RAK is one of the UK's best-known recording studios. It was founded in 1976 by English record producer Mickie Most.
We have four studios at RAK, all of which are kitted out with classic, top-of-the-range recording equipment.
Studios 1 and 2 contain API desks (the first to be used in a British commercial recording facility), on which acts such as Radiohead, Robert Plant, Laura Marling, Sam Smith, Bryan Ferry, Keane and Tom Odell have recorded.
Studio 3 houses a vintage Neve VRP Legend console, and both classic and state-of-the-art outboard equipment. Previous clients include Tom Jones, Rod Stewart, Take That, Simply Red and the Last Shadow Puppets.
Our boutique mixing room, Studio 4, boasts an SSL 4056 desk, which has been used by Dido, Gomez, Foo Fighters and Plan B.
All of our studios are comfortable and spacious, with plenty of natural light. Unusually, for a London studio, we have in-house accommodation for up to six people, plus catering facilities and off-street parking. For additional guests, we can help you find a favourable rate at a local hotel.
RAK is housed in a converted Victorian school and church hall, a few minutes from Regent's Park. St John's Wood is a peaceful neighbourhood with a wide choice of restaurants, pubs and shops, and London's West End is within easy reach.
Our engineers have a wealth of experience and technical ability - and are dedicated to bringing your project to life.
